Algae Peels

Algae Peels

Being a naturally derived product, our Algae face peels are perfect for those of us who are conscious of what products are used on our skin.

The spicules contained in the peel contain a host of minerals including zinc and copper both of which are beneficial for those with acne, or those looking for an effective anti-aging treatment.

This unique and natural peel can reduce fine lines and scarring, heals acne and inflammation and target hyperpigmentation.

This peel promotes a natural and safe peel in the epidermis (top layers of the skin) with amazing results in only 7-10 days.

What to expect at your treatment?

Depending on the type of peel chosen; light, cosmetic or intensive, the Algae solution will be applied to the face and allowed to be worked in for up to 15 minutes (this is on the high end of the intensive version).

The peel penetrates into the layers of the skin and target cells that can treat a number of skin concerns including sun damage and ageing, acne scarring, pigmentation, uneven skin tone and texture, redness, and rosacea, fine lines, and wrinkles. By removing build-ups and stimulating skin regeneration, our Algae peels offer measurable results in the improvement of wrinkles and fine lines, sun damage, pigmentation, pore size, acne, and oil production. Please note: preparation is required before some peels, we will discuss this with you prior to your appointment by way of consultation bookings.

Your skin may be sensitive and may look slightly red or discoloured for a few hours. It can be expected to have some flakiness and peeling in the days afterwards.

After Care

After a peel, it is important to avoid certain products that can irritate your skin, such as toners, astringents and exfoliants. We recommend using gentle, fragrance-free cleansers and moisturisers, preferably Cerave or Cetaphil, to help soothe your skin.

You should avoid direct sunlight for 24-48 hours and use sun protection every day.

Avoid alcohol for 24-48 hours after.

Dryness, irritation, or swelling may occur for the first several days after the peel but try not to scrub at the skin. Breakouts or a mild lightening or darkening of the skin may occur within the first week post peel.

How many treatments will I need?

Regular peels can be beneficial to your skin health and your aesthetician can advise the best routine to rebook at your appointment.

How long until I see results?

It can take up to 7 days for your skin to stop peeling depending on the strength of the treatment. You should feel a smoother texture to your skin and improved complexion after the peeling has stopped.

Get the best out of your treatment

  • Add a Skin Prep Treatment

For the best results, we recommend prepping your skin with an express microdermabrasion or dermaplaning to get your skin ready for your treatment.

  • Avoid Excessive Sun

This goes for before and after your skin treatment. Always opt for a good SPF if needing to be outdoors and where possible avoid excessive exposure
