LED Teeth Whitening at Miami Kiss Varsity Lakes Gold Coast

How does LED Teeth Whitening work?

Teeth yellowing is an unfortunate part of aging, sped up by a number of lifestyle factors including smoking, drinking and staining foods, so it's understandable that many people are turning to teeth whitening treatments to regain that whiter, brighter look to their smile.

At Miami Kiss we offer LED Teeth Whitening treatments from as little as $35 a 30 minute session. So what is LED teeth whitening and how can it help you?

LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. It is a device which releases visible light when supplied with an electrical current. Often, the light is a single colour which can be anywhere between red and blue-violet on the visible light scale. LED lights can be very intense and often brighter than their halogen or incandescent lamp counterparts. They are also a lot cooler as they have very efficient heat-dissipating designs.

LED lights are used in teeth whitening procedures for one key reason: research has shown they speed up the chemical reactions that remove the stains from teeth.

What can I do to prepare for my session?

  • Have something to eat and drink beforehand - after your appointment you will need to avoid food and drink for up to 4 hours, and continue to avoid any foods or drinks that may lead to staining for 24 hours (think tomatoes and coloured drinks) so it is best to not come into your appointment on an empty stomach;
  • Brush your teeth - while we can still perform the treatment if you haven't, brushing your teeth beforehand is preferred.
Teeth Whitening LED Light Side Effects
  • Sensitivity – You may find that your teeth temporarily become more sensitive after LED teeth whitening. This is usually not permanent, and you can look after your teeth by using toothpaste for sensitive teeth, and also by being very gentle with your toothbrush.
  • Gum Irritation – If the whitening agent comes into contact with the delicate tissues of the mouth, such as the tongue or gums, the tissues may become. Cell turnover in the mouth is quick, so the irritation will not usually last long.

How long does the treatment go for and how long will it last?

Our LED Teeth Whitening sessions go for 30 minutes plus about 5-10 minutes to allow you to fill in paperwork, ask any questions and get you set up. You will be required to lay back in a chair for the duration, so you may want to bring along a episode of your favourite show to watch on netflix ;)

To achieve your desired colour you generally will require multiple sessions and how quickly you achieve this will depend on a number of factors...

Single sessions are priced at $35.00 and multi pack options are available to upgrade when instore.
